YouTube on an Apple TV near you now

If you took our advice back in March and went out and got yourself an Apple TV, you might like to know that the first software update has just been released for it.

What has Apple added to its little box of living room goodness? YouTube.

Nothing to write home about. And, frankly, we’d be a lot more excited about some HD content. After all, we didn’t splash out on the best wide-screen plasma in the business, just to view grainy, YouTube footage.

But, hell, it’s a free download, and, we suspect, only a tentative first step towards turning the device into a true media hub for your living room. Stay tuned.
