Love The Prodigal Guide? Have an iPhone or iPod touch?

Yeah yeah, we know, you already have a hundred different ways of reading your favourite blog while on the go: the mobile site, our RSS feed, Twitter. Well, as of today, if you’re sensible enough to own an iPhone or iPod touch, you have another one: a dedicated Prodigal Guide app for iPhone.
That’s right folks, we couldn’t let our poor little blog be without the latest craze in tech: its very own app. So, we availed ourselves of the services of AppMakr and we have to say, we’re rather pleased with the results.
Prestigious app built, we set about doing some market research and figuring out how much we could charge for it. How valuable is our Prodigal content when wrapped in its very own glossy new app? After literally seconds of analysis we reached our conclusion. Yeah, that’s right, it’s free. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the Apple App Store and download yourself a copy.
If you like it, please be so kind as to leave a review in the App Store.

Thanks for the feedback.
I agree with you on both counts. We made a mistake when naming the app and it’s now too late to go back and change it.
And, you’re right, an app is only really useful if it contains the full content. The reason ours doesn’t anymore is that we curtailed our RSS feed because we wanted people to visit the site to see the whole article and hopefully take part in the discussion.
I would like to release a v2 of the app towards the end of this year. Full content. Integrated video. And social media integration. Watch this space!
But first, we’re planning a design revamp of the site itself. Yeah, it’s starting to feel way too much like work ’round here!

Even though I’m a huge tech person, I’ve never particularly cared for RSS feeds/readers because comments are usually very useful and can add a lot to the article.
Having said that, I really like how Engadget’s app is done (full articles with comments – can even “save” them for later/offline viewing, gallery, and vide0). But, then again, I never really cared for Engadget’s comments – full of useless stuff. Gizmodo has much better ones (not sure about current situation, but it used to be you had to be approved to post comments, so there were less of them, but they were more valuable) but they don’t have an iApp and I’m really, really, really dissatisfied by their new weird design.

I will download it tonight.
But
I am a bit shocked – no Symbian App?
This is the home of all things Nokia after all.

I love y’all, BUT:
(a) Is there a reason the app is named like that? It’d help to have the word “prodigal” in the title;
(b) While I’m not opposed to single-publication apps (e.g. Engadget), not having full articles in the app is a deal-breaker.
