Linde Werdelin product highlights on video

When we visited Linde Werdelin recently to interview their managing director, Jorn Werdelin, we couldn’t very well leave without getting our grubby little paws on some of the firm’s more interestesting models. So, after our interview was over, we asked Werdelin to talk us through some of the Danish brand’s product highlights.
And with that, he was off again! This second video ended up being slightly longer than the formal interview and that’s due in large part to the passion that Werdelin so clearly has for his product. As you’ll see below, there’s a genuine enthusiasm that shines through for every model in the range.
The real discovery for us was how different Linde Werdelin products look and feel in the metal as compared to in photos. Before our visit, just from browsing the web, we were convinced that the 3 Timer with a white face and an ostrich strap was the model for us. By the time we’d spent an hour with the watches actually in front of us, we weren’t so sure. The SpidoLite SA that Werdelin was wearing during the interview – and which he takes off so we can look at it in the video below – was one of our least favourite in photos: too complex, too self-consciously avant-garde, we thought. In real life: it’s a stunner and quite possibly our favourite.
Ahhh…decision, decisions…

Fantastic to see the range showcased like that. Only one thing I don’t get about the Reef instrument: I wear a dive watch as back-up / redundancy when diving (or simply to tell the time). I almost lose that when I cover it up with the Reef. Sure, I can set the bezel, slip on the Reef and jump in, but just seems a bit odd. Perhaps the only way is to get one and try it out!
