Samsung Galaxy Tab, you tempting little vixen
By The Prodigal Fool, published on 30 September 2010
We’re Apple fans as you know – and increasingly devoted iPad users. It’s very rare that another technology company manages to produce something with the combination of style, functionality and originality to catch our eye. Samsung has just done it with its Galaxy Tab.
We’re still not sure whether a 7-inch screen is the perfect compromise for a mobile tablet or closer to a ludicroulsy over-sized phone. But we’re veering towards the former. All of a sudden we can imagine using a tablet far more than we do our iPad. Whereas the iPad tends to get left in our bag until we’re sitting down somewhere, we could imagine using the Galaxy Tab while out and about. And that suddenly make the tablet form factor even more attractive. This thing really looks and feels like the future of computing.
It’s powered by the Android 2.2 OS, has front (1.3 MP) and rear (3 MP) cameras, full HD video playback and comes in 16GB and 32GB models. It’s also got built-in 3G HSPA connectivity, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0.
In other words, from a specifications point of view, it blows the iPad away. But the real appeal is the size. Or have we just been completely taken in by Samsung’s slick new ad (below)?
Oh, Hell, we don’t know anymore…Samsung Galaxy Tab, you tempting little vixen, you.

Anything that cuts off the top of the flat iron building needs to do more to gain my esteem. No temptation here.
