Marvin Watch Co. holding exclusive watch sale. Hurry!

By , published on 25 November 2011

UPDATE: This post originally offered exclusive discounts to Prodigal Guide readers until November 28. But given our fat arses were so slow in getting this offer up, the generous folk at Marvin have extended the discounts to our readers until November 30. Post changed to reflect the extension. Happy shopping!

Oh, we can now start to make out Friday evening up there in the distance, whistling and strutting toward us with a Robusto and dry martini at the ready. So much goodness ahead.

And what better way to wrap up the week than offering our readers a very special discount on select models from a darling watch brand that’s been with us since the beginning: Marvin Watch Co.

True, others have been crowing about the sales for several days now, but you know we don’t run around here. We stroll. And even then, we’ve managed to get you guys discounts of up to 40% off on DN8 & Origin models and 20% off the Malton (we reviewed and really dug the Malton 160 Cushion we call Froggy) and Loeb collection (except for the new Loeb, bien sur).

The exceptional Prodigal Guide discounts (not cumulative with other discounts) we mentioned above will only be available until Wednesday November 30, and you can only pick up one piece per person. Large families helpful with this restriction. Our pick of the bunch? The Malton 160 Cushion with silver dial. Smart, in both senses of the word.

Head on over to Marvin’s e-shop and to obtain 40% off the DN8 and Origin you need to enter the following code: theprodigualguidedn822

And you can get your 20% off the Malton and Loeb (except the new one) with this code: theprodigualguidemalton26

Of course, you’ll find that more than 40 models are included in the overall sale, with discounts up to 70%.

We’ve always considered Marvin to represent incredible value for money, possessing a bubbly sense of humour and charm that is often lacking in this aloof, tight-arse industry. And at these prices, you’d be a bit silly to resist!

Eh….is the name of our site deliberately misspelt in these discount codes? What fool did that!?

Is this normal? Can someone let me know if this is normal for a watch company to do? I bought a Marvin a few months ago and while I love it I obviously feel bad now because I could have gotten the watch $450 cheaper if I knew this deal would happen. Now that it has happened, I can guarantee you I’ll never buy one of their watches again at full price. I expect this when I buy new things at dpt stores but not from the company direct.

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m just mad because I feel like I spent more money than I should have. Either way, I’d like to know what someone else thinks.

    Thanks

      Bo,

That sure is a tough break. But I’m not sure how you can blame Marvin for the timing of your purchase…? Point is we, as buyers, have to assume responsibility for when we buy, as well as where/how we buy.

Maybe you should approach Marvin to see if there’s anything they’d be willing to do?

        Thank you, straight-six.

I actually did contract Marvin about it and I’m waiting to hear back. I know I took that risk but now, because of conducting the sale, I’ll never buy a watch at full price again. And I don’t say that to be bitter or to think I’m showing them, because I’m not. I just honestly feel like I won’t be able to pay full price on their website again because I’ll wonder when the next sale will be.

But besides this particular grievance, I love Marvin. I think they make a great quality watch for a very very reasonable price (especially if you get it on sale). Their customer service is amazing too. I would and have been recommending the Marvin brand. Whether I continue to do so will be determined based on how I feel in the coming weeks/months.
