We’ve mentioned Baume & Mercier to you before. After spending a few happy hours with the brand at their ‘Hamptons House’ at SIHH 2012 (to everyone else, that would be a, ahem,  ‘stand’), what we came away with was an overwhelming desire to spend more time – a lot more time – with one of their models in particular: the Capeland Flyback Chronograph.

This unassuming little chrono captured our attention – and quite possibly our hearts – above and beyond anything else in the collection. The question is: how would it stand up to the scrutiny of a Talking Hands episode?

There’s only one way to find out: pour yourself a drink, hit play and join us, for Talking Hands.

The movement is a La Joux-Perret calibre 8147-2. That’s not an in-house movement, but I do believe it is exclusive to this watch.

“Call me picky, but not being able to tell the time on a watch might be an issue…”

Classic Fool understatement which had me in stitches yet again.

Oh, and he needed a cask of cough syrup and some new lungs during that shoot, not another Saint Joseph…:)

Fun to watch (haha) as always! I find the position of the date a bit odd but maybe that is just the result of the size of the watch or the design. Anyway, thanks chaps.

Chaps. Nice review but please, back off the cigars or swill some cough medicine before recording. Not being able to tell the time is always a bugbear of mine on many watches too.
