Like cars? Live in London? Then you’ll doubtless have heard of Chelsea AutoLegends. The event, set in front of the exquisite backdrop of the Royal Hospital Chelsea – also home to the Chelsea Flower Show – is fast establishing itself as a firm petrol-head favourite. In early September, the Royal Hospital comes alive to the sight, smell and sound of over 500 highly sought-after collectors’ cars, representing much of the past and present of British motor sport.
This year we were lucky enough to be invited by sponsors H.R. Owen to come along and soak up the atmosphere. And of course we wanted to report on the event for you. But how best to convey the excitement of seeing all these wondrous cars in one place? Well, we could think of no better way than to hand the camera over to a child.
Every single photo you see here was taken by The Prodigal Fool’s Canon S100 in the rather excited hands of, eh, his four year old son. Want professionally shot photos taken with skill and technique? Then head on over to any of a hundred other car magazine sites. Want to have some small sense of the childish wonder that we experienced admiring these gorgeous machines? Then you’re in the right place. Enjoy.

Our founder and publisher, the self-proclaimed "greatest wit, raconteur and bon vivant of our age", borders on delusional. Over the years, The Fool has squandered more money on fast cars, Swiss watches and electronic gadgetry of all kinds than he – or his bank manager – cares to remember. Come nightfall, he can invariably be found stumbling out of Dukes mumbling “just one more Martini; I could have handled just one mmmmm… [thud!]”
