Darth Juke-R: Nissan take the piss and we love them for it

Nissan displayed a profoundly dark and impish sense of humour when they decided to create the Juke-R, previously the most ridiculed modern car on the road. With a GT-R engine in it, no-one would dare laugh in its face now. Would they…?!

Whine and whir: The electric car shiver

Straight-Six gets his Spiderman Y-fronts in a twist over RUF’s electric 911s. At least two of the eRUF models to be tested can hit 100 kph in five seconds, and power on to a top speed of 220 kph.

Finally! New Lancia Stratos trumps the old

We really don’t have time to do this post and its subject justice. Honestly. On the run between meetings and lunch at a devastatingly good Italian restaurant (vongole and Tuscan white wine await…), we have mere minutes to share with you the storming success that is the New Stratos. Clearly, the cognescenti will know immediately [...]

The Jaguar C-X75 and Bremont

With this post, we’re delighted to welcome our latest guest contributor to The Prodigal Guide: Noodlefish. The man is fanatical not just about watches but about the sort of horological detail that would escape most timepiece fans. In the coming months, he’ll be taking us deep down the watch rabbit hole. The trinket and the Titan: Citroen DS3 and Metropolis

As children of the 70s, we were marked by many things automotive. One was the time some Danish friends took us for a ride in their Citroen CX by their country home in southern France. Gorgeous. Now there’s a word you don’t often hear in the same sentence as Peugeot. Oh sure, the plucky French carmaker has had its moments – 1997′s Pininfarina-styled 406 coupe springs to mind – but on the whole we tend to associate Peugeot with accomplished hot hatches not inspired design. Well, just because we stumbled [...]

Recession be damned

Yes, we’re in the middle of the worst global recession for half a century. But it seems that no one remembered to tell the German carmakers. Thank God. If you haven’t yet done so, you need to head on over to Evo to check out their coverage from the Frankfurt motor show. For our money [...]

Just because: the Lamborghini Insecta Concept

Just because we wanted to push that dreadful Toyota Prius down our homepage, here are some gratuitous shots of the rather stunning new Lamborghini Insecta Concept. Designed by a Romanian design student called Iulian Bumbu, the Insecta is an impressive beast.

Wow

We’ve long admired Aston Martin’s designs. The DB7 rejuvenated the brand. The DB9, stylistically but also from an engineering point of view, completed the journey back to form. And we’ve since been blown away by the V8 Vantage and, more recently, the four door Rapide.
