Jeep gets social on its 70th birthday

Jeep is now embracing social media in a pretty compelling way. Sure, like many brands, Jeep has taken the well-trodden highway of social media. They have YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr channels. So far, so middle of the road. But, in keeping with the American brand’s value of uniqueness, back in June – to celebrate its 70th year in business – it also launched an online portal.

Driving exotics with the hoi polloi: a Prodigal affair?

We’ve been to the track again. But this one left little Straight-Six a little frustrated: “You’re hot, bothered, wired and ready to start stroking some pedals and caressing the Alcantara-covered wheel. But no. It’s off to the cold shower with you or, in this case, a spot on the spectator steps nursing a Chimay Bleu while you watch the cars mostly creep round the circuit, probably as nonplussed as you.”

We’re off to the Total 24 Hours of Spa with Swedish lion Stefan Johansson

We’ve been invited to savour the Spa race track through the equivalent of drinks at the bar with the big boys, courtesy of the lion of Sweden, Stefan Johansson. He’s joined United Autosports (an Anglo-American team) which is having another crack at the historic 24-hour race at one of the world’s finest tracks by fielding no less than three Audi R8 LMS.
