Now it’s Audi’s turn to send us to sleep: The new Audi A8

Oh dear, oh dear, just a few days after we were left yawning at BMW’s new 5-series’ very derivative styling (more so than they’ve ever done in the past, the Bavarians had simply taken the model lower in the range and made it bigger), we get news from Miami that Audi has just unveiled the [...]

Not so you’d notice but this is the new BMW 5-series

This is this new BMW 5-series. If you must, there’s another shot after the break. And if you really must you can get the full low-down over at evo. Yawn.

Biggest dog on the road? Porsche Panamera or BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo?

If you love cars then what should matter most to you is how a particular model drives. The acid test should be whether, faced with the prospect of a cross-continental trip, you’d want to pick up its keys or go for something else. But, like it or not, how a car looks is integral to the whole [...]

Slapping the enthusiast

We were shocked, saddened and downright furious to discover that our favourite and most enlightened forum on BMW Motorsport cars – and a whole lots else besides – has been shut down due to pressure from BMW AG and BMW UK. Apparently, BMW claims www.mtorque.co.uk  was being used for commercial purposes, which is absurd considering [...]

Oh dear, oh dear…

This is the BMW 135i Coupe. Jeremy Clarkson loves it – he went so far as to say that it’s the best car BMW currently makes – and indeed so do most other motoring journalists who have sampled it. They say it’s a great, back-to-basics, drive.  Well, we don’t care. And we don’t [...]

Bangle’s long-lasting jangle

Birth isn’t a pretty sight. Usually messy, often unsightly and occasionally violent, few great leaps in human history – and the many disciplines it has generated – took place elegantly and with unanimous consent. For many, the debate over the design direction Chris Bangle took BMW into has quieted with the passing of each new model.  Some say [...]

BMW X6: What’s it for?

Car Magazine has just published the first official photos of BMW’s X6. The top of the range 5.0 model will supposedly blast from 0-60 mps in 5.4 secs. That’s just half a second slower than a current generation M3. Pretty impressive by any measure.
